Using your Guilderland Elementary School Library


Community Borrowers

Parents are invited to use our school library as a community borrower. Drop by the library to register to select books for you and your children. Community borrowers can checkout up to ten books, read-alongs, parenting materials, or magazines. Items are checked out for a one month loan period. Please return library materials promptly.

Electronic Resources from Home

Guilderland Elementary School subscribes to a number of web-based resources for your use from your home computer. These include Tumble Book Library,  World Book Encyclopedia and more. Some sites require a username and password. If you would like an electronic list, please fill out the request form below.

Free eBooks are now available to GES library patrons with the help of Capital Region BOCES. Check out up to 3 books at a time, using your Destiny patron number (your child's student I.D. or assigned username).

To transfer your download to your portable device, install the Overdrive App (search for Overdrive Media Console at the App Store). When installing, you will be asked to register for a free AdobeID, do so at this time.

To access eBooks using a Guilderland Elementary library patron number:

  • Open your web browser and go to

  • Click the Sign-In link (upper right)

  • Select Guilderland Central School District from the drop down menu

  • Enter you library patron number (your student ID number-which is your Destiny Username)

  • Click the Browse button to browse titles by device or genre

  • Click on a title, and depending on your device, click either Kindle Add to Cart, or Adobe EPUB eBooks Add to Cart button for available titles. The Place a Hold button is for titles not currently available. You can choose to be placed on the hold list.

  • Click Proceed to Checkout and select a 7 or 14 day lending period

  • Click Confirm Checkout and you will get a Download button

  • Click Download, and Overdrive should open your eBook automatically

  • When reading in the overdrive app, be sure to click the Edit button to Delete/Return if you finish your eBook before the loan period is up.
