All fourth graders have scheduled library classes on Thursdays.


Students must have their teacher's permission to leave the classroom to visit the library at other times during the day/week.

to track books and overdues, especially before whole class exchange.
Remember that you can also browse and place holds from your account anytime!

Fourth grade students are encouraged to use library books and suggested web sites (such as the World Book for Kids or Student) to pursue their own interests, as well as the topics covered in class.
Some topics are listed below:

Science (electricity, electrical circuits, chemistry, chemical properties, weather, water cycle, erosion, energy, and magnetism)

Social Studies (New York State geography and history, Erie Canal, Iroquois Confederacy, Algonquians, Explorers from France, England, and the Netherlands, Henry Hudson, Dutch/French/English colonists, Revolutionary War in NYS, Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence, United States and New York State Constitutions, Industrial Revolution, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Immigration)

Math (Use the web sites listed above to practice math facts.)

Language Arts (Remember to always balance fiction and nonfiction. Books, magazines and web sites are great choices.)
