Athletics

Student-athletes will be transported to away contests by school authorized vehicles only. Under unusual circumstances, an athlete may receive permission from his/her coach to ride home from a contest with his/her parents. This should be cleared with the coach. The parent should give the coach a written note after the game before taking the student. All squad members are expected to conduct themselves in a fashion that will ensure the safety of all passengers. All safety rules must be followed. All regulations are in effect during charter trips.

Guilderland playing fields
Please do not bring dogs to games, as they are not allowed on school grounds.

Farnsworth Middle School Fields (Modified sports)
Basketball, wrestling and volleyball are held in the main gym
Parking for these events are encouraged to use main parking lot in front of school & additional parking in the rear or the building.

Football, soccer, lacrosse and field hockey fields
Fields are located in front of building and on the “upper field” which access can be gained by pathway behind shed located adjacent to football field. Parking for these events are encouraged to use main parking lot in front of school & additional parking in the rear or the building.

Baseball and softball fields
The baseball and softball fields are located on the “upper field” which access can be gained by pathway behind shed located adjacent to football field. Parking for these events are encouraged to use main parking lot in front of school & additional parking in the rear or the building.
At no time should spectators park on Presidential Way events at FMS. Parking violations will be ticketed by the Guilderland Police Department.

Guilderland High School Fields (Coming From Route 146)
First Driveway Entrances From Route 146
Football field, track and field events, east gym, field hockey, girls lacrosse, girls varsity softball, boys freshmen baseball wrestling matches & JV tennis courts - use first driveway on school house road.

Second Driveway Entrance From Route 146
Main doors to the High School.

Third Driveway Entrance From Route 146
Main Gym (Boys and Girls Basketball & Volleyball) Synder field (Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Lacrosse) Freshmen softball field, Varsity Baseball Field, JV & Freshmen boys and girls soccer fields and boys JV freshmen lacrosse fields, weight room, AD office.

Reverse order if coming from Depot Road.

Directions to area high schools
Albany
700 Washington Avenue– From I-90, take Exit 24 to I-90 East; get off at the Washington Ave. Exit. Travel about 1 ½ miles and the school is on your right. From I-90 West, get off at the Everett Rd. Exit, go left on Everett Road, go to Central Avenue and take a left on Central. Go about ½ mile and take a right on North Main. Go 200 yards and take a left on Washington Avenue.

Amsterdam High School
Thruway Exit 27, Rt. 30 N, cross bridge, up hill, bear left (still on Rt. 30N), continue to Stewarts on left, take left to school.

Averill Park High School
I-90 east to Exit 8 (Defreestville/Route 4). Go straight (2 lights) to Rt. 43. Follow Rt. 43 through West Sand Lake. From Millers corners (Millers Supermarket is on the right) the High School is approx. 2 miles beyond on the left.

Ballston Spa High School
Take I-87 to Exit 12. Turn right if you are coming from the north, left if you are coming from the south. (If you come to Route 9, you went the wrong way.) Go about 3 miles to the traffic light at the intersection of Route 50. Go straight across the intersection. The school is on the left, about .1 mile.

Bethlehem High School
I90 to Rt. 85 {Exit 4}, go to end, right at light {New Scotland Avenue}, left at first light on Rt. 140 (Cherry Avenue Extension), at second light take right (Delaware Avenue).

Burnt Hills Junior/Senior High School
Northway Exit 9, left on Rt. 146A {approximately 2.5 miles}, right onto 146A for approximately 6 to 7 miles, after crossing railroad track take left onto Lake Hill Road. High School up on right. Middle School: Go past High School, cross Rt. 50, Middle School on left.

C.B.A.
Rt. 155 Albany Shaker Road, take Airline Drive across Heritage Park.

Colonie High School
Rt. 5 Central Avenue east to Hackett Avenue (first left beyond Colonie Center).

Columbia High School
I-90 East to Exit 9, right at ramp onto Rt. 4, left at light, go under bridge, High School on left.

Mohonasen
Rt. 146 to Curry Rd. Left on Curry Rd. Look for a sign on the left for Mohonasen Jr. & Sr. High.

Niskayuna High School
Rt. 7 West to Rt. 146 (Balltown Road), right on 146, go past TV station, school right after Mobil Station

Saratoga Jr./Sr. High School
Exit 13 N Northway Rt. 9 north past entrances to SPAC, look for School of Dance on left, take first left (W. Fenion St.) go through traffic light, bear right at "Y" in road, School on right.

Schalmont High School
Thruway Exit 25A (I-88), first Exit off I-88, Rt. 7, take left at light, High School is on right.

Schenectady High School {Formerly Linton 1445 The Plaza}
Rt. 5 Central Avenue becomes State Street, right on McClellan Street to the Plaza.

Scotia High School
Rt. 5 through Schenectady (State Street), over bridge into Scotia, right at Sacandaga Road, continue to High School on left.

Shaker Junior/Senior High School
Northway Exit 5, left on Rt. 155, cross Rt. 9, Junior/Senior High Schools down the road on the left (approximately ½ mile).

Shenendehowa Junior/Senior High School
Northway Exit 9, left on Rt. 146 approximately 2 miles, campus entrance on left, check directory at entrance for specific school.

Troy High School— 1950 Burdett Avenue
Northway Exit 7 east to Troy, over bridge up hill (Hoosick Street) High school on left.

Voorheesville High School
From GHS - left onto Depot Road, go approximately 2.1 miles, turn left onto NY-156, bear right onto NY-85-A for approximately 1.8 miles.

Directions to area middle schools
Algonguin Middle School (Averill Park)
I 90 to exit 8. Take route 43 for 10 miles. Take a left on Route 351. Proceed for a mile and a half. At the intersection of 351 and 66 the school is on the left on route 66.

Bethlehem Middle School
Take Route 155 to Voorheesville. Take a left on 85A until you get to RT. 85. Take a left and stay on 85 to the Tollgate Ice Cream Parlor. Bear to the right. The middle school is on that road on the right after it crosses Delaware Ave. (Kenwood Ave.)

Burnt Hills Junior High School
Northway Exit 9, left on Rt. 146A (approximately 2.5 miles), right onto 146A for approximately 6 to 7 miles, after crossing railroad track take left onto Lake Hill Road. Go past High School, cross Rt. 50, Middle School on left.

Central Park (Schenectady)
Rt. 5 Central Avenue West becomes State Street. Take right at Fehr Avenue, go straight to park entrance

Colonie (Sand Creek Middle School)
Go north on Wolf Rd. past Colonie Center. Take a right on Sand Creek Rd. The middle school will be on the left.

Columbia (Goff Middle School)
Take I-90 to exit 9. Bear to the right when you get off the exit. Stay on that road until you get to Rt. 20. Take a left on Rt. 20 then about a 1/4 mile take a right on Gilligan Road, Goff Middle School will be on the left.

Doyle Middle School (Troy School District)
Northway to Alt. Rt. (Exit 7) to Troy. Cross Hoosic Bridge. Take a right on Burdette. Go past RPI Student Union.

Lishakill Middle School

Rt. 155 to Central Ave. (Rt. 5). Take a left at K-Mart. Stay on Rt. 5 until you come to Waterman Road on the right. Take a right. You should see the entrance to the school on the right.

Mohonasen (Draper Jr. High)
Rt. 146 to Curry Rd. Left on Curry Rd. Look for a sign on the left for Mohonasen Jr. & Sr. High.

Mont Pleasant Middle School
West on 890 to Michigan Ave. exit. Take left at the exit. Go over 890 and stay to the right. The school is on the right.

Niskayuna (Iroquois Middle School)
Take route 7 east past Balltown Rd. to Upper Union. At the light take a left on Rosendale Road. Stay on Rosendale and the middle school will be on the left.

Saratoga Jr. High (Maple Avenue School)
Exit 15 off Northway, take left onto arterial, 3rd traffic light take right onto Route 9 North, school approximately 1 mile on the left.

Shaker Jr. High
Go up the Northway to exit 5. Take a left when you get off the exit (Rt. 155). Stay on Rt. 155, cross Rt. 9 and the Jr. High will be on the left.

Van Antwerp Middle School (Niskayuna)
Route 7 to Balltown Road. Go past the firehouse, take a left at CVS and Blockbuster Video. Take a left on Alton Street. The fields will be on the left and the school will be on the right.
