Assistant Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds

Dec. 21, 2017—The Guilderland Central School District serves approximately 4,800 students kindergarten through grade 12. There are 9 buildings and approximately 1 million square feet in the district.

Start Date: Approximately late February, 2018
Minimum starting salary: $75,000-85,000, commensurate with experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: Administrative position assisting the Director of Facilities with all aspects of facilities management and capital construction for the district. Supervision is exercised over all 60 custodial, maintenance and health & safety personnel in the Operations & Maintenance Department. Duties include but not limited to: directing and managing day-to-day operations, oversight of departmental budget, procurement/bidding, planning long and short term projects and implementing numerous operational programs. Advancement in the department is possible. Minimum experience; High School graduate and three (3) years’ experience in large scale building maintenance activities including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity. Preferred candidates will have specific experience with the duties noted above. Must possess a valid drivers’ license. Salary $75-85,000 commensurate with experience. Candidate will be hired provisionally and will be required to subsequently pass the Civil Service exam and be reachable.
