Water testing results in GHS and FMS

March 8, 2018—In September 2016, Governor Cuomo signed a new law that requires public schools in New York to test all water outlets currently or potentially used for drinking or cooking purposes for lead levels.

The district received the results from a resampling of water sources that previously exceeded the action level (15 parts per billion) at Guilderland High School and Farnsworth Middle School. The results are taken from tests after remediation efforts were made. Those efforts consisted primarily of replacing faucets, faucet lines and shut-off valves. One sink in Guilderland High School remains above the actionable level. That sink will continue to only be used for hand-washing until levels come back under the actionable level.
