Guilderland mourns the loss of
Anthony and Eddy Chen
The district is now able to release the names of the two young Guilderland Elementary School students who were among the victims of Wednesday’s tragic crime on Western Avenue in the Town of Guilderland. Fifth grader Anthony Chen and his younger brother, Eddy, a second grader, were both lost along with their parents, Hai Yan Li and Jin Feng Chen. Learn more

Guilderland Central School District has been ranked No. 3 out of 83 districts in the Albany area in student performance in a report recently released by Business First. According to the publication, the rankings reflect the collective performance of each district's public schools from kindergarten through 12th grade over a period of four years. Learn more

Trick or Treat Street 2014
The GHS Classes of 2015 and 2018 are sponsoring the annual Trick or Treat Street on Saturday, October
25 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the high school. The event, which is open to children of all
ages, will feature trick-or-treating throughout the school building (through
7 p.m.) as well as a
magic show, carnival with games and prizes, haunted house, sing-a-longs,
face painting, bouncy bounces, live entertainment, refreshments, and more!

Fall Recycling Extravaganza set for
Oct. 25 at Farnsworth Middle School
Event will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both residents and non-residents of the school district are encouraged to bring their unwanted papers, metals, electronics, textiles, plastics (including bags), and bikes for free drop-off; all items will be re-used and/or recycled. Student information updates
On Friday, September 12, 2014, a letter was distributed to all parents via the district's SchoolTool Parent & Student Portal highlighting some important details regarding student information updates in the new school year. In particular, the letter addresses changes to how report cards and Individual Student Reports (ISRs) for grade 3-8 assessments will be available to parents as well as information about verifying and updating your child's health information. District transitioning to paperless report cards in 2014-15
Beginning in the 2014-15 school year, Guilderland Central School District will be transitioning to a paperless report card system for all students, grades K-12. Report cards will no longer be sent or mailed home; instead, parents will be able to access and review their child’s report card online via the district’s SchoolTool Parent and Student Portal.
