Congratulations to Mitchell MacKissock (Varsity Basketball) and Miranda Putorti (Varsity Gymnastics) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of December 27th.
Mitch has had an outstanding last 4 games for the Dutch. He scored 27 points @ Colonie, 21 points vs Bethlehem, 26 points vs Mekeel Christian and 18 points vs Utica Proctor. On the season, he has shot over 60% from the field. He has helped his team to a 5-4 record in the early part of the season. Way to go, Mitch!
Miranda has been a key leader on the varsity gymnastics team this season. She placed 1st on the beam and floor @ Shaker, and 1st on the beam and floor @ Saratoga. At the Think Pink Invitational at Guilderland over the holiday break with 4 teams competing, Miranda was equally as impressive. She placed 2nd on the bars, 3rd on the beam, 2nd on the floor and 2nd in the all around. Great job, Miranda!
Dutchmen of the Week
Each week, we will highlight one male and one female student athlete (Modified, Mod 9, Frosh, JV or varsity level) for athletic accomplishments based on the following criteria.
- The athlete should have made a significant impact to a contest within the nomination time frame, which is the week prior to selection; or
- The athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement/effort, community service and/or other notable trait(s).
