With the start of autumn and cooler weather also comes the start of the flu season. Anticipated to be more severe than last year’s flu season, there are preventative measures Guilderland Central School District families can take to stop the spread of germs. The Centers for Disease Control offers preventative steps, such as avoiding close contact with sick people, washing your hands and getting vaccinated. Albany County Department of Health is offering seasonal flu vaccines by appointment for county residents.
Another preventative measure GCSD families can take is to keep students home when they are ill, no matter their symptoms. Please visit the district website for guidelines regarding when to keep a student home with illness.
