Summer School 2024 will be held at Niskayuna High School, July 10 – August 15.
Registration
Registration will be open from June 17-June 28. Families will be contacted by your child’s school counselor to inform you of your child’s need to attend summer school. Families may contact school counselors directly to register a student for exams.
Transportation
Transportation will be provided at specific pick up locations. Buses will not pick up students at their houses, students must be brought to the pick up location.
For students needing transportation, buses will depart from the following locations beginning July 10:
Route R
- Guilderland High School: 6:48 a.m.
- Altamont Elementary School: 7:02 a.m.
- Pine Bush Elementary School: 7:27 a.m.
Route S
- Westmere Elementary School: 7:05 a.m.
- Farnsworth Middle School: 7:15 a.m.
On Regent days (August 19 and 20) transportation will be similar with additional pickup/drop times (information regarding transportation on Regents days will be provided separately).
Students will leave Niskayuna High School at 12:15 p.m and will be dropped off at their pickup location. Students with one class will remain on the Niskayuna High School campus until classes are complete for the day or they may be picked up by a parent or guardian.

- July 15 – August 8, middle school grades 7-8 classes hosted

Regents Examinations
For any student choosing to retake the Regents Examination there will be a $25.00 fee per exam (For Regents Exam only students, for example, non-summer school students) that will be added to the student’s school account.
Photo identification required on the day of the exam. Students not attending Summer School will need to provide a photo id. Students without a photo id will not be admitted unless a staff person is present to verify them.
Walk-ins who require test accommodations: if students require test accommodations, we may not be able to accommodate them if they are not registered by June 28.
All students must be registered to take the exam and will have a 25.00 fee placed on their student account, unless they are attending summer school.
Meals
There is no food provided during the Regents Exams. If a student has 2 exams, we encourage you to inform them that they should bring food/snacks.
Allowed/Prohibited Testing Items
Students are not allowed to bring backpacks or cell phones/smart watches into the testing locations. If a student has any of these items, they will be required to check them in with Security upon arrival. They are encouraged to leave these items at home.
Students are allowed to bring in pencils, pens, calculators, etc. in a clear plastic bag. In addition, students may bring in a water bottle.

- Calculators – Students/Districts must bring/provide the required calculators
- Algebra, Algebra II and Geometry – Graphing Calculator
- Earth, Chem, Living Environment – 4 Function or Scientific calculator
- Straight Edge Ruler and Compass (Geometry)
