FMS collecting unopened boxes of cereal for annual domino event

Farnsworth Middle School is excited to announce the return of cereal box dominos, a favorite holiday tradition! The annual event combines critical thinking with philanthropy, as students are empowered to make a difference while applying lessons from the classroom to spark a chain reaction of generosity.

From Monday, Nov. 18 to Tuesday, Dec. 10, families, staff and community members are invited to donate unopened boxes of cereal to the school’s four houses – Hiawatha, Mohawk, Seneca, and Tawasentha. Collection boxes are also provided in the FMS main entrance for community donations. These items will be used to create an elaborate domino pathway throughout the school on Thursday, Dec. 12 and subsequently donated to the FMS Backpack Program and the Guilderland Food Pantry.

Every box counts, every box makes a difference. The goal is to collect at least 1,000 unopened boxes of cereal to make the greatest impact possible this holiday season and surpass last year’s record.

All donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you to Phillips Hardware and Quick Response for their contributions and support in organizing this important event.
