Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the loss of a Farnsworth Middle School teacher and coach, Mr. Mark Banovic. As a school community, we are devastated by his passing. We extend our sincere condolences to his family.
For nearly 17 years, Mr. Banovic was a teacher and coach at Farnsworth Middle School. His love for his work with students both in the classroom and on the field was obvious to all who spent time with him. He had a gift for forming meaningful relationships with both students and colleagues; his kindness and compassion made a difference in countless lives. He will be fondly remembered and profoundly missed.
We offer our deepest sympathy to the Banovic family and to all who feel the loss of such an outstanding educator and honorable individual.

Often when we hear of another’s death, our own feelings about death surface. This is true for our children as well when they learn of the passing of someone they know. Our feelings may focus on the deceased, another person who has died or anxiety about death in general. When talking with your child about this difficult news, we encourage you to listen carefully, answer questions openly and honestly, and let your child know that even adults do not have all the answers concerning death. Accepting and validating these feelings is beneficial.
