Congratulations to Bridget Burke (Varsity Golf) and Addison Vellekoop (Varsity Cross Country) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of September 19.
Bridget Burke (Varsity Golf)
Bridget has been on the girls varsity golf team since it started four years ago. Now a senior, she has become one of our top four golfers. Bridget stepped up over the summer and worked hard on her game. She competed at the Suburban Council Golf Tournament and will round out our team at sectionals. Bridget is one of the most supportive and positive partners anyone could have out on the course. Her teammates love playing with her, and she is a pleasure to coach. Bridget will be missed next year.
Addison Vellekoop (Varsity Cross Country)
Addison is only a freshman and has been our number one varsity runner all season. She ran in two freshman races, the Voorheesville Blackbird Invy and the Ocean State Invy, and dominated both of these races, running our fastest times on the course ever. At the Ocean State Invy in Rhode Island, she ran against 131 athletes with a time of 15:31. Addison covered the 2.5 mile course in an average time of 6:14 a mile. Her time was the third fastest time in meet history!

- The athlete should have made a significant impact on a contest within the nomination time frame, which is the week prior to selection; or
- The athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement/effort, community service and/or other notable trait(s).
