Grier Schiermeyer and Hallie Czajka named Dutchmen of the Week for the week of Sept. 30

Congratulations to Grier Schiermeyer (Modified Volleyball) and Hallie Czajka (Varsity Field Hockey) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of Sept. 30.

Grier Schiermeyer (Modified Volleyball)

Grier has been the definition of hard work pays off this last week. Grier has had a tremendous attitude in practice and in games which has translated to huge improvements on the court. He is always showing he wants to get better and works hard to see his results! Grier has been a positive role model for his teammates on and off the court. Grier has been a quiet leader of the team and does a phenomenal job of keeping his teammates involved and keeping their heads in the game!

Hallie Czajka (Varsity Field Hockey)

Hallie helped the Varsity Field Hockey team to a perfect 3-0 record last week. She was recently moved from left defender to center forward/striker, a position she has never played. The move paid off as Hallie was responsible for 4 goals and 5 assists on the week. She scored early in the 2-0 win against Shen on Wednesday, Oct. 2, and helped assist multiple goals in games against Columbia and Niskayuna. Hallie is extremely hard working, positive and has exceptional sportsmanship. She has completely embraced her new role and has provided the team with a lot of momentum going into the final regular season stretch.
