Lynne Baumgartner

Lynne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at John Carroll University and a master’s degree in Community Psychology and Guidance Counseling from Sage Graduate School. She worked as an Admissions Counselor at Excelsior College and as a School Counselor at a junior/senior high school in Massachusetts prior to coming to Guilderland High School in 2006.  She enjoys camping, reading, watching the Red Sox and spending time with her husband and son.

Candace Galarneau

Candace earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology while attending the University of Tampa, Florida and a master’s degree in School Counselor from Sage Graduate School.  She came to Guilderland High School as a Teaching Assistant in the Counseling Department in 1995 and became a School Counselor in 1997.  Outside of working she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her husband.

Ashley Kaplan

Ashley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of Vermont and a master’s degree in Professional School Counseling from Sage Graduate School.  She joined the Guilderland High School Counseling Department in 2017. She enjoys coaching her son’s travel soccer team, listening to live music, sports, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Amy Knapp

Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University at Albany and a master’s degree in School Counseling from SUNY Plattsburgh.  She worked as an Elementary Counselor and Junior High Counselor before coming to Guilderland High School in 1989.  Outside of working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son Danny, Guilderland High School Class of 2022.

Karen Murphy

Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in General Studies from SUNY Oneonta and a master’s degree in School Counseling from The College of Saint Rose.  She worked as a School Counselor at Mohonasen High School and Draper Middle School prior to coming to Guilderland High School in 1998.  She enjoys gardening, swimming, traveling and exercising and spending time with her husband and children, Kate, GHS Class of 2024, and Jack, GHS Class of 2026.

Jennifer Lunetta

Jen earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Scranton and a Master of Education in School Counseling from St. Bonaventure University. Before joining the Guilderland High School Counseling Department in 2024, Jen worked at Niskayuna High School and Shaker High School. In addition to being a lacrosse mom, Jen enjoys walking her dog while listening to podcasts and audiobooks.

Jacquelyn Higginson

Jackie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Education from The College of Saint Rose. She worked as a Teaching Assistant at Pine Bush Elementary before coming to the GHS Counseling Center in November 2020. Jackie enjoys reading, baking, and most importantly spending time with her family which includes her daughter, Harper.

Kimberly Jourdin

Kim graduated from Bryant and Stratton College and worked for over 20 years as an Administrative Assistant and Front Office Specialist before coming to the Guilderland High School Counseling Center in 2016. She enjoys the outdoors, walking, reading, the ocean and spending time with friends and family, especially her daughters, Alyssa, GHS Class of 2016); Gabriella, GHS Class of 2019, and Lilliana, GHS Class of 2025.

Victoria Tocco

Tori earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Empire State College. She worked as an Assistant Director at a local daycare for several years before joining the Counseling Center at Guilderland High School in January 2021. Tori stays busy with her children Jonah and Azalea, her husband’s Taekwondo business, and reading when she has free time.
