What it takes to create an online production
The cast of 25 and crew of 20 have been rehearsing since mid-February and started recording 12 total segments in March. To meet COVID safety protocols, actors are masked throughout the production unless they’re singing alone on stage. For groups singing, vocals are pre-recorded by cast members. In scenes where people are singing live, effects, such as green screens and mirrors are used to make it appear the actors are closer together. The orchestration was pre-recorded and provided by the publisher of the production.
The finished performance will be streamed through the publisher’s website, and there will be a charge for each of the four screenings.
