Julia Beyer (Varsity Cross Country)
Julia is having an awesome season. She has been one of our top runners this year. To say that she has improved since last season is an understatement. For Example, this weekend the team traveled to Rochester to compete in the McQuaid Invitational. Last year, Julia ran on the Sophomore team and was our 5th runner in a time of 21:00. This time is a 7-minute mile pace which is already an impressive race. This year, at the same invitational on the same course, she was our 4th varsity runner with a time of 18:27. This equates to a 6:09 mile pace and that time earned her a medal and a prestigious “elite runner” patch.
Sadie Miller (Varsity Field Hockey)
Sadie was named to the prestigious Max Field Hockey National All Tournament Team. Her play at nationals was stellar, often holding strong against top recruits to ACC and Big Ten level schools. Her team defeated a very strong undefeated Bethlehem team on Wednesday September 25th to improve the Lady Dutch to 5-1 in league play. Sadie is one of our speaking captains and has stepped up her role as a leader of the team while being positive and encouraging to the underclassman on JV.
Each week, we will highlight two student athletes (Modified, Mod 9, Frosh, JV or Varsity level) for athletic accomplishments based on the following criteria.
- athlete should have made a significant impact on a contest within the nomination time frame, which is the week prior to selection; or…
- athlete must have shown excellent leadership, sportsmanship, noticeable improvement/effort, community service and/or other notable trait(s).
