Congratulations to Kara Whiteside (modified cross country) and Joe Kosier (varsity cross country) for earning DOW (Dutchmen of the Week) honors for the week of September 13th.
Kara is an amazing athlete. She came in first place at her first ever cross country meet on September 18, leaving everyone in her dust. Aside from being a talented runner, Kara is an extremely hard worker. She gives 100% every day, regardless of practice or race. She is also everyone’s friend, cheering on teammates constantly. Modified cross country is so lucky to have her on the team.
Joe has made a huge impact on our Boys GHS cross country team in a short time. He was the 1st place finisher in the freshman race at Blackbird Invitational, leading his freshman team to the win. The next weekend he won the junior varsity race at Fort Plain Invitational, leading the team to the win! In addition to his fast performances, Joe has a team-first mindset and is an incredibly hard worker each and every day.
