A message from Dr. Wiles:
Dear GCSD Families,
The Guilderland Central School District Music Department has been designated one of the NAMM Foundation’s “Best Communities for Music Education.” This honor exemplifies the Guilderland community’s commitment to include music education as part of an overall quality education for students. As you attend spring concerts across the district, you will see – and hear – the result of the hard work and dedication that contributed to this well-deserved recognition for a twelfth time.
U.S. History and Government Regents Examination canceled
Today the New York State Education Department announced that the U.S. History and Government Regents Examination scheduled for June 1, 2022 has been canceled. With this cancellation, June 1 will be a regular in-person day of instruction for Guilderland High School.
School Start Times
Tonight at their meeting, the board of education is expected to vote on school start times for the 2022-23 school year. The board is weighing options that are the result of the work of the School Start Times Task Force. Once the board votes and selects start times for the 2022-23 school year, families will be notified via the district website and regular email communications.

No school, Friday, May 27
Please note there is no school on Friday, May 27. This is a contingent holiday because the district did not use more than two emergency closure days during the 2021-22 school year. The district offices will be closed as well. With no school on Friday, May 27, there will be a change to the schedule of communications to GCSD families; this week the second communication will be sent on Thursday, May 26.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Marie Wiles, Ph.D.
Superintendent
