Five of the eight NYS finalists chosen are GCSD students
Sabah Nasr, a sixth grade student at Farnsworth Middle School, won the New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (NYS TESOL) student logo contest.
The contest invited NYS multilingual students in grades K-12 to create a logo design based on this year’s theme of “shifting teaching paradigms: examining inclusive dynamic practices.” Sabah will receive a $150 cash prize and recognition at the NYS TESOL Annual Conference in November 2022.
Sabah’s logo will also be featured on all promotional materials for the conference.
Of the eight finalists chosen from across New York State, five are Guilderland Central School District students. In addition to Sabah, the GCSD students chosen as finalists are:
Raiqa Akter, FMS
Iris Chan, LES
